Cancer Consultation Support

Professional, free medical consultation for cancer patients

Intended for newly diagnosed lung cancer patients, patients with metastatic breast cancer, and cancer patients receiving treatment in public hospitals.

Cancer consultation programme

Through volunteer oncology specialists from the Hong Kong Oncology Study Group (HKOSG), the programme provides medical consultation to patients in need, addressing questions about cancer medicines and treatment plans.

Subsidised items

  • Lung cancer consultation: PD-L1 protein staining (22C3) and one consultation with a participating oncologist.
  • Breast cancer consultation: hereditary breast cancer genetic testing and one consultation with a participating oncologist.

A genetic testing consent form is required for the tests.

Original programme period: 1 May 2024 until further notice. Please contact us to confirm current availability, eligibility and subsidy arrangements.

How to apply

  1. Contact customer service by WhatsApp and provide medical records and the Hospital Authority follow-up slip for assessment.
  2. After approval, a free consultation with a participating private oncologist will be arranged.
  3. Each patient may receive the consultation once.

Programme terms

  1. After applying, patients must provide medical records and the Hospital Authority follow-up slip for approval. One consultation with a volunteer oncologist will be arranged after approval.
  2. MediPartner handles information according to the data protection principles of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance and keeps applicants’ personal information confidential.
  3. Patients agree to the transfer of their information to the consultation doctor for follow-up and appointments, and to receiving suitable cancer information from MediPartner by email, SMS or telephone.
  4. To change an appointment, notify the clinic at least two working days in advance and tell us the new date. MediPartner reserves the right to cancel eligibility if a patient misses an appointment without sufficient reason.
  5. The consultation does not diagnose conditions or prescribe or provide medical treatment. Patients uncertain about their condition should consult their treating doctor.
  6. The consultation provides professional medical information and opinions only. Related treatment and examination costs are not included.
  7. Participating doctors are Hong Kong oncology specialists serving voluntarily. Contact MediPartner for details.
  8. Patients are encouraged to provide medical records and relevant information to help the doctor understand their condition.
  9. Patients may register with eHealth so that authorised public and private healthcare providers can access their electronic health records for care.
  10. Information must be true and accurate. Impersonation or use of another person’s information may result in disqualification.
  11. MediPartner does not endorse or recommend a particular doctor or cancer medicine. Direct medication questions to the treating doctor.
  12. MediPartner is not the provider of the consultation service. The original terms state that 香港醫護聯盟 accepts no responsibility for losses or liabilities arising from use of the service.
  13. MediPartner retains the final decision on approval and may reject or terminate an application without giving a reason.
  14. Further information and supporting documents may be requested when necessary.
  15. The programme and its terms are governed by and interpreted under the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. MediPartner reserves final interpretation and decision rights in a dispute.
